Fire Safety Programme 2024-2026

As part of our work to continually improve your home and provide high quality, safe places for you to live, we have already completed and will continue to carry out a range of fire safety investment work in our blocks of flats.

What we have already delivered

We have already invested more than £12m in eight key areas. This enabled us to complete:

• New communal fire doors in our blocks with three or more storeys and new flat entrance doors where needed.
• Fire stopping work to contain any fire, should it occur in our homes and stop it from spreading.
• Improving fire detection within customer’s homes. (Flats within communal blocks)
• Sprinkler system installation in high rise tower blocks to control any fire, should it occur, and reduce damage to homes.
• Bin chute and bin store refurbishments to help control fire should it take place.
• Increased ventilation in communal areas in blocks to help manage smoke, should a fire occur.
• Surveys to external wall insulation systems on our blocks to confirm its condition and remedial works where required.

What we have planned

The fire safety investment will continue through 2024/2025 and throughout 2025/2026

• Continuation of fire stopping work to contain any fire should it occur in our homes and stop it from spreading.
• Continuation of upgrades to fire detection within customer’s homes. (Flats in communal blocks)
• Bin chute and bin store refurbishments to help control fire should it take place.
• Installation of new flat entrance doors where needed.

Why are we doing this work?

We are carrying out this work as part of our responsibility to maintain and improve your homes. It is also to make sure they comply with legislation so they continue to keep you safe.
