FCHO joins other social landlords to donate £70k to Oldham’s Community Recovery Fund

We’ve joined together with other social landlords who work in Oldham to contribute £70,000 to the borough’s Community Recovery Fund.
The fund, which is managed by Action Together, has been set up this year due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. Voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups working in Oldham can apply for grants of £200- £1000 to help them recover from the pandemic.
Kelly Webb, Operations Director for Customer First here at FCHO said: “Joint working with other housing associations and local partners is more important than ever as we provide ongoing support through this difficult time to people in our borough”.
“Housing is about much more than putting a roof over customers’ heads and I’m delighted that Oldham’s housing providers have been able to make this donation to the Community Recovery Fund. We know the Covid-19 pandemic has hit the area hard. This money will go towards helping build resilience in local areas, supporting communities to thrive, encouraging people to develop their skills and look after their wellbeing and I look forward to seeing the results it delivers.”
Information about how to apply for the Oldham Community Recovery Fund is available on the Action Together website.
Oldham housing providers which have supported the fund along with FCHO are Housing 21, Great Places, Regenda Homes, Guinness Partnership, For Housing and Onward Homes.
The providers have worked together for many years as Oldham Housing Investment Partnership, collaborating on joint projects as well as working closely with Oldham Council to ensure the best services possible are provided for the borough’s residents. In future, this will involve a close working relationship with the Strategic Housing Partnership as well as a continued informal network to ensure a continued focus on meeting local housing needs.
“As housing providers, we all have a history of not only providing homes but also supporting local communities to develop and grow. This new fund provides an effective way of getting resources to people in need and to make a real difference to people’s lives. We’re committed to our partnership with Action Together so that together we can make that happen.”
