"It's made so much difference," says customer Annette on energy efficiency improvements at her home
22/04/2024
This Earth Day we hear from customer Annette from our Alt neighbourhood, on the difference that energy efficiency improvement work has made to her and her home.
She is among hundreds of FCHO customers whose homes have already had green makeovers to help slash bills and make them more energy efficient.
The work is part of our forward-thinking strategy to transform 3,800 existing FCHO properties 2023-2028 to help customers to heat their homes for less and keep them warm for longer.
In delivering this crucial work we can deliver important benefits to our customers, futureproof our neighbourhoods and achieve the sustainability targets in our Big Plan and Sustainability Strategy.
Watch our video to learn about Annette’s experiences of the improvement work and the positive impact it has had.
Boosting the energy performance of more homes
Currently underway is our £5.4m programme to boost the energy performance of 350+ FCHO homes that have an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating below C.
We have secured £2.4m from wave two of the Social Housing Decarbonisation Fund (SHDF) and committed a further £3m of our own money to deliver this project which runs until 2025.
It follows our recently completed scheme to deliver green upgrades to around 200 FCHO homes across the Oldham borough in 2023/2024, plus our retrofit pilot project completed in 2022.
