Share your views on our plans for West Vale and regeneration in the area
17/01/2022
On Thursday 27 January our teams will be out and about in the neighbourhood around West Street and Vale Drive speaking to local people about our plans for the area – get involved!
Community is at the heart of our West Vale project and we want to hear your views on the new development and what else matters to you.
How can we improve the wider neighbourhood? From enhancing its appearance and adding new facilities, to making the most of open spaces and investing in homes so they are fit for the future, we want to know what your priorities are.
Our team will be out knocking on doors to hear what you have to say, and your important feedback will help shape our work.
Daniel Isherwood, our Project and Partnerships Officer said: “We’ve got big plans for the neighbourhood around West St and Vale Drive and creating a sustainable community where people want to live and work, now and in the future is central to these.
“We want to get conversations going with more people in the area and listen to what matters to you. We look forward to seeing you on the day.”
You can also get involved by taking our short online survey. Alternatively, call us on 0161 393 7117 or email ci@fcho.co.uk to take part.
West Vale
Located close to Oldham town centre, West Vale is set to be our new development right in the heart of Oldham. It will provide a range of high quality, affordable new homes in a vibrant neighbourhood where people, families and businesses can thrive.
After standing at the gateway to Oldham town centre for almost 50 years, work to demolish two tower blocks, Crossbank House and Summervale House, got underway in December 2021.
In their place we are building the new ‘West Vale’ development - 88 high quality, new homes to help meet local housing need. We're planning twenty-six houses – a mix of two, three and four-bedroom family homes – along with 62 apartments, which will have one or two bedrooms.
The new properties will be eco-friendly and will have an Energy Performance Certificate A - the most energy efficient rating in terms of likely fuel costs and carbon emissions.
