Tackling Anti-Social Behaviour Together in Oldham
10/01/2025
This week, our teams have taken part in Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) Operation AVRO in the Oldham borough.
The operation focuses on improving engagement with residents and addressing local crime.
Colleagues from our ASB and Neighbourhoods teams joined GMP local policing colleagues on patrols in neighbourhoods including Derker and St Mary’s Estate to show a joined-up presence of authorities and provide reassurance to customers. We also took part in a joint session at Tensing Street Community Centre in Failsworth, attended by more than 25 locals who had the chance to raise and discuss issues that matter to them.
Peter Davidson, our Head of Neighbourhood Management, reflected on the initiative: “We’re committed to working with local partners to safeguard our customers and communities, and supporting Operation AVRO is a great example of this in action.
“It was an opportunity to listen to our customers and the issues affecting them, share essential information on how to report incidents, stay safe in their communities and show our multi-agency approach to tackling anti-social behaviour.”
We remain committed to preventing ASB from impacting our customers. Every report of anti-social behaviour is taken seriously, and we will continue to act where necessary to protect our customers, communities, and colleagues.
