Time you topped up your pension?

30/10/2023

Did you know you may be eligible for money to top up your pension and access other financial support?

We’re getting in touch with customers aged 65 and above to let you know you may be missing out on additional regular income that can really help with daily living costs and that our teams can support you to claim all you are entitled to.

Pension Credit is a weekly payment to boost your income. It’s based on how much money you have coming in and has to be claimed, it is not paid automatically.

The money tops up a single person’s income to a minimum of £201.05 per week or a couple’s income to £306.85 per week. There are additional amounts available if you are disabled, have caring responsibilities or are looking after a child.

Pension Credit also opens other support including council tax reductions, extra energy support, housing benefit, free dental and optical treatments, and, for those over 75, a free TV licence.

Yet despite these benefits, around one third of pensioners who qualify for Pension Credit do not apply for it and every year millions of pounds go unclaimed.

We want to help change this and make sure you get all the financial assistance you are eligible for this winter to help with living costs.
